We've used a number of Rick Steves' guidebooks when we go to countries in Europe. We like the good detail such as the train information, which towns and activities are the best to visit, and other practical information.

I have only scratched the surface of the information packed in this book but I’ve browsed enough to see that it is well written and very helpful. I’d say it borders on information overload but we have plenty of time to make our way through it a couple times, highlighting parts that we will likely want to review again as our trip approaches.

Hello,

I have been enjoying pouring over my Switzerland Guide Book in preparation for the tour next year. I suspect I am not the first to point this out, but in the spirit of being helpful to my fellow travelers...

Throughout the book, the COOP food markets are incorrectly referred to as Co-op. It’s COOP; I believe it rhymes with soap and hope. I suggest including this pronunciation tip several times through the book.

Otherwise, I am finding the guide book extremely helpful in getting up to speed on the locations the group will visit, and also planning the four or five additional days I will travel on my own.

Keep up your great work!

Sincerely,

Dean Leutscher

Just enough, not too much. Has stuff other guides books don't have. Highly opinionated and directive. As in "if you have 1 day, to this! If you have 3 days, do this! Don't waste your time on this (Geneva). Always my go to. Add another book for contrast. Stay in hotels found in both books!

I buy the digital version right away to start the trip planning but I love bringing the guidebook to read while I’m traveling on the tour.
