Should I get this book in addition to either Rick's complete Germany guidebook or his Best of Germany guidebook?

Nope! The Munich and Salzburg chapters of the the Germany guidebook, and of the Best of Germany guidebook, already include all the information that's in Rick Steves Pocket Munich & Salzburg — and then some. (What the bigger books cover on these two cities, beyond what's already in the Pocket guide, is not substantial enough to merit buying either of them for a trip that doesn't extend any farther into Germany.)

Great guifebook

Ver informative and will be used on my trip

Great info, as always with a Rick Steves publication. It would be great if there was an option for large print. This publication seemed like a much smaller print than usual.

I would not travel without a Rick Steves guide. I am looking forward to Munich and Salzburg and will benefit from having prepared for the trip with a great guide book.
They are updated every year and I have never been disappoint with any hotel, restaurant or tour that Rick Steves recommended. They are the gold standard!

As of 24 May 26, my wife and I have 3d edition from Feb 24. I see this new edition is early 26. 3d edition is very good. It has oriented us to the region for our upcoming trip here in Aug 26, for 10 days, from Spokane, WA. I'm sure there are improvements to the 4th edition. Each chapter in the pocket guide provides outstanding insights and info for travels, and, travelling light.
