This is a perfect addition to my travel supplies. It is exactly what I need for day outings. It is the perfect size to carry a water bottle, battery pack, raincoat, travel guide and other essentials for a day exploring. It folds nicely and fits in a larger pack or pocket. It also cleans up nicely.

We almost always travel with packable duffels for when we come back with too many souvenirs for the luggage we left with. I'm now adding the Packable Backpack to our baggage menagerie because on my next trip I want to follow Rick's advice to use a carry-on-sized backpack as my main bag rather than a spinner, and will thus need to pack my daypack.

Other RS travel forum members told me they use a Civitas for this purpose, which is 3 liters larger, and I'm curious about that one now but will give the Packable a try. I field-tested it by walking to the grocery store for milk, OJ, dried fruit, and crackers, and was able to get it all in. So, a guidebook, a windbreaker, and an umbrella ought to work.
