The Rick Steves store is the first place I went when searching for the perfect carry-on. I was looking for something light, versatile, durable and most importantly, reliable. I rely heavily on travel advice from Rick and his staff and I knew I could be confident in the curated products designed and/or endorsed by Rick and his team.

I love the Riga. It is the perfect size for a traveler accustomed to packing light for multi-week getaways. I never thought I would love a hard case, but it most definitely suits me. My only wish is that it was also offered with dual-spinner wheels which is necessary on the rare occasion when I am pulling 2 pieces of luggage or wanting to attach a backpack to the handle. Otherwise, it is PERFECT!!

After a lot of trips it was time to replace my older Rick Steves bag. I noticed the Riga was similar to my last one so I gave it a shot. I really like having two halves to work with when packing. Helps me know which half of the bag to access when searching for an item. As my trip continues I like to use one half for my dirty clothes. I like the addition of a waterproof compartment and the bag stands upright better even when expanded compared to my last one. I have been happy with it so far!

I just used this suitcase on a one week bus and train trip. Without anything in it, it’s already heavy. With clothes and toiletries and a pair of shoes, it’s impossibly heavy. The fabric is already frayed in one spot. Stick with Civita bags and small stuff and this was my second luggage purchase— the first one kept tipping over. On the positive side, yes there are lots of compartments but the bag itself starts out too heavy. I respect all your other travel work but def not this.
